Why We Exist

The Self-Science Lab (TSSL) was founded on a simple, vital principle: You shouldn't have to sacrifice your health, relationships, or well-being to achieve outstanding and sustainable results across your career.

Our founder created TSSL to provide professionals with the essential skills, the "Self-Science" teaching, she wished she had access to throughout her own demanding career. We understand that the greatest pressure in any organisation falls on Managers. They are the critical link between leadership strategy and execution, often handling the toughest demands with the least training.

That’s why we specialise in supporting them. We equip managers with the tools to prevent the burnout, relational strain, and health crises that so often sabotage success.

All levels of seniority in a workforce have one thing in common: they are all human beings! They have the same Human Operating System but different roles and responsibilities. When the human mind isn’t functioning at its best, we often witness demotivation, poor or no decisions,  mis-communication or drama and dysfunction in teams. When the human mind works well it can innovate, make good and fast decisions, communicate effectively and create meaningful lasting relationships which in turn builds great teams.

I am an Emotional Intelligence Leadership Trainer, Executive Coach and Mindfulness Practitioner. I specialise in Stress Management, Adaptive Communication and Influence because these soft skills underpin the capacity to change our behaviour and inspire others to change theirs. Leaders and Managers need to master the capacity to change for excellence.

I founded The Self-Science Lab  to make Self-Science accessible to professionals with the teachings I wish I had had along my career to prevent burnout, relational and health sacrifices while I delivered results. The people who most impacts your business are your Managers, because they sit between your Leader’s strategy and your workforce’s execution. We specialise in supporting them because they tend to have the least management experience and biggest asks.

Lauren Cartigny is an ICF PCC certified Executive Coach and Emotional Intelligence Leadership Trainer who specialises in Stress Management, Adaptive Communication and Influence.

Lauren has developed deep expertise in Business and Personal Applied Psychology, Gestalt Psychology, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), The Process Communication Model® (PCM), Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i) and Mindfulness practices such as Yoga and Meditation.
